Tuscany restaurants

Italy is well known for its incredible amount of gastronomical choices. Every region has its own unique dishes and even the world-famous pasta can be made in so many different ways to be described here. The only thing in common? They’re all delicious.

History plays a main role when considering food in Italy, as nearly every dish dates back to the mediaeval period or even earlier.

Bread, and specially the traditional Tuscan loaf, has a starring role in the Tuscan cuisine, as it has always been considered a sacrilegious act to waste it, generating a wide range of recipes involving stale bread cooked in a creative way.

During the Medioeval period, Tuscany was divided in an incredible amount of rival cities and little kingdoms, always at war with each other, creating many different recipes to compete among themselves or to have something tasty when war interrupted the provision of a particular raw material.

So, if you’re willing to move across Tuscany, don’t forget to look for traditional Tuscan Restaurants, as the advised menu might vary a lot while moving through the country.

Moving from north to south, restaurants could suggest you the Fiorentina Steak, nearly a kg of pure rare / medium rare meat, or the Caciucco Soup, made with fish and tomatoes or, if you’re looking for a more vegan-style dish, the ribollita, a particular kind of minestrone soup with stale bread.

As said before, making a list of every kind of food you could eat in tuscan restaurants would be impossible, same as for the numerous premium wines you could sample with them.

Italian wines have always been considered the only rivals of the French ones. We’re not here to discuss about which one is best but, if you do like wine, don’t forget trying the renowned Brunello di Montalcino or any of the ones produced in the Chianti region, in central Tuscany, you will taste a bit of history and tradition.

Don’t forget that in Italy, eating is considered nearly as a holy moment. Drop your smartphones, start chatting about the beautiful places you’ve already seen and slowly enjoy your meal in one of our Tuscan restaurants.
